Abstract
The reaction of [Co(aet)(en)(2)](NO3)(2) (1(NO3)(2); aet = 2-aminoethanethi olate; en = ethylenediamine) with AgNO3 in water produced a novel S-bridged (CoAgI)-Ag-III chain complex-polymer, [Ag(Co(aet)(en)(2)}](NO3)(3) (3(NO3) (3)), by way of a (CoAgCoIII)-Ag-III-Co-I trinuclear complex, [AgICo(aet)(e n)(2)}(2)](NO3)(5) (2(NO3)(5)) The crystal structure of 3(NO3)(3), which cr ystallizes as a conglomerate, was determined by X-ray crystallography.
