Abstract
A new dimeric hydrolyzed tannin called glarein A (I) is isolated from Eupho rbia glareosa Pall. ex Bieb. leaves. Glarein A consists of two D-glucose re sidues, two valoneaylic groups, and two gallic acids. The structure is esta blished by chemical reactions and UV, IR, and PMR spectra.
