Abstract
This paper continues studies on the use of Oscik's equation-assuming an ads orption-partitioning mechanism of chromatography in reversed-phase liquid c hromatography. The equation describes the relationship between solute reten tion and mobile phase composition, including four parameters characterising the chromatographic system. Model theoretical studies on the effect of mol ecular interactions, surface phase composition and solute properties on ret ention are presented.
