Abstract
Cleavage of supercoiled (sc) plasmid DNA by restriction endonucleases and b y deoxyribonuclease I was detected by means of AC voltammetry at mercury fi lm on glassy carbon electrode (MFE). Using this technique, it was possible to detect both single- and double-strand breaks in DNA. MFE modified with s cDNA was used as a biosensor for the detection of DNA-cleaving species.
