Abstract
A case of beta -thalassemia intermedia with spinal cord compression due to extramedullary hematopoiesis, which was successfully treated by blood trans fusion, is presented. Emphasis was made on the MRI appearance of extramedul lary hematopoiesis on different pulse sequences.
