Abstract
Seven new species of the genus Arhodeoporus are described from sandy deposi ts of the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea reefs, bringing the total number of known species in this genus to 30 and the number of known species from Australia to 11. Arhodeoporus caudatus n. sp., A. clypeatus n. sp., A. cora llicolus n. sp. and A. lizardensis n. sp. are found to belong to the longir ostris group, while A. longicrus n. sp., A. subtilis n. sp. and A. ventroma culatus n. sp. can be assigned to the eclogarius, gracilipes and bonairensi s groups, respectively. The gracilipes group is recorded from the southern hemisphere for the first time. Arhodeoporus species described from southwes tern Australia or elsewhere have not been found on the Great Barrier Reef. A key to Australian species of Arhodeoporus is presented.
