Abstract
External equivalence of behavioral representations is investigated within a n impulsive-smooth framework. As an attendant problem, initial-value consis tency is also considered. Explicit necessary and sufficient conditions are derived. Applying the external equivalence result to conventional system re presentations reveals some interesting interpretations.
