Intraoperative enteroscopy for diagnosis of a bleeding jejunal lymphangioma

A patient with recurrent gastrointestinal bleeding from a jejunal lymphangi oma is described. Multiple preoperative diagnostic studies, including sonde enteroscopy, failed to reveal a bleeding source. A bleeding lymphangioma w as subsequently detected by intraoperative enteroscopy of the small bowel. Intraoperative enteroscopy was a useful diagnostic technique in this patien t with otherwise unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding.
