Abstract
Modification of poly(acrylonitrile) membrane was carried out by heterogeneo us photoinduced graft polymerization of methyl acrylate from the vapor phas e. The technique of transmembrane monomer flow has proved to be effective f or filling pores. The effect of preparation conditions like initiator conce ntration, reaction time and monomer concentration on the membrane separatio n was investigated. These graft modified membranes showed benzene permselec tivity for benzene/cyclohexane mixture (50/50, v/v) on pervaporation. (C) 2 000 published by Elsevier Science B.V.
