Abstract
The syntheses of some novel flavones i.e. 6-methoxy-7-methyl-(8), 3',6-dime thoxy-7-methyl-(9),6-hydroxy-3'-methoxy- (15), 2',5'-dimethoxy-6-hydroxy- ( 16), and 7-methyl-2',5',6-trimethoxy- (17), flavones using conventional and modified version of the Baker-Venkataraman synthesis have been described.
