The paper is devoted to an experimental study of graphite-based composite a
dopted to mass production. The aim of the research is to study conditions f
or introducing cold compacting into the production process instead of the p
resent hot pressing. The results will be used to produce parts of small wei
ght and high precision. The latios of the two main materials, filler and bi
nder, were varied, as well as the conditions of heat treatment of compacts
up to hardening, while preserring dimensional accuracy. The procedure decre
ases electrical energy consumption, makes economical use of production capa
cities, and lowers the production cost of graphite-based parts.
