After the operation, the hyoid bone was seen to have moved downward, and the cra nial bone was observed to have rotated forward. As a result, the hypopharyn x and the oropharynx were expanded. Expansion of the hypopharynx resulted i n the decreased resistance of flow decreased and the increased in airflow.
