Abstract
In this paper, an OFT-based (overlapping rounding transform-based) multi-ch annel filtering technique is proposed. We show that the proposed technique does not only unify the computations of the HINT (hierarchical interpolatio n) algorithms, but enables also multi-channel subband filter banks to be ap plied to lossless image compression. As examples, two efficient non-separab le four-channel filter banks are newly presented. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
