Dp. Hansen et al., IDENTIFICATION OF INTERNAL FLOW DYNAMICS IN 2 EXPERIMENTAL CATCHMENTS, Mathematics and computers in simulation, 43(3-6), 1997, pp. 367-375
Identification of the internal flow dynamics in catchments is difficul
t because of the lack of information in precipitation-stream discharge
time series alone. Two experimental catchments, Hydrohill and Nandadi
sh, near Nanjing in China, have been set up to monitor internal flows
reaching the catchment stream at various depths, from the surface runo
ff to the bedrock. With analysis of the precipitation against these in
ternal discharges, it is possible to quantify the time constants and v
olumes associated with various flowpaths in both catchments.
