L. Hua, Frequency analysis of rotating truncated circular orthotropic conical shells with different boundary conditions, COMP SCI T, 60(16), 2000, pp. 2945-2955
In this paper, a study is made of the influences of orthotropic properties
and boundary conditions on the free vibrations of a rotating, truncated, ci
rcular orthotropic conical shell. The study includes the effects of the Cor
iolis and centrifugal accelerations and the initial hoop tension. It is bas
ed on the Love first-approximation theory and Galerkin procedure, Results a
re obtained for the frequency characteristics of different orthotropic para
meters, rotating velocities, cone angles and boundary conditions. Influence
s of orthotropic properties and boundary conditions on the relationships be
tween frequency parameter and rotation velocity are discussed for different
cone angles. To validate the present analysis, comparisons are made with t
hose available in the open literature and very good agreements are obtained
