In this paper, a torsional wave propagation problem of anisotropic medium i
s analyzed by using the method of numerical integration along bicharacteris
tics. The dynamic behavior of an orthotropic bar of rectangular cross-secti
on due to an impact torque on the end surface of the bar is studied and the
