Abstract
Spontaneous and isolated dissection of the superior mesenteric artery is a rare and often fatal event which has been successfully treated by surgery i n several reported cases. We present a patient with acute mesenteric ischem ia due to superior mesenteric artery dissection who was successfully treate d by percutaneous endovascular placement of a Wallstent.
