Abstract
Using two examples - the transport processes that takes place in a electrod ialysis cell membrane and the influence of perforations on the velocity and flow distributions in a rotary drum filter, E Fontes and P Bosander of Com sol AB, Sweden, explain why modelling tools can play an important role in t he optimisation of filtration processes.
