J. Ham et al., Job destruction in the private and public sector during the transition to a market economy: Evidence from the CR, FINANC A U, 50(11), 2000, pp. 598-599
The authors of this paper seek to analyze the pace and determinants of work
er and job relocation in the early years of market transition in the Czech
Republic. They provide estimates of the time evolution of worker and job re
allocation and carry out a multivariate duration analysis of job destructio
n. Comparing their own results to those of other Central and East European
countries, the authors demonstrate why economic transition in the Czech Rep
ublic has been relatively smooth.
