Abstract
The sodium complex [Na(dppmO(2))(3)]Cl . 2H(2)O .C6H6 (dppmO(2) = Ph2P(O)CH 2P(O)Ph-2), which was initially isolated as a minor by-product during studi es of the decomposition of Re2Cl2(mu -dppm)(2)(CO)(CNXyl)(3), was prepared by a more logical route involving the reaction of a mixture of dppm and NaC l with 30% H2O2 in aqueous actone followed by recrystallization from ethano l-benzene. A crystal structure determination shows that the coordination ge ometry around Na is rigorously trigonal prismatic. (C) 2000 Elsevier Scienc e B.V. All rights reserved.
