Abstract
Grateloupia doryphora (Montagne) Howe and G. filicina (Lamouroux) C. A gardh var. luxurians A. & E.S. Gepp are two exotic species now well es tablished on the coasts of Brittany. The taxa are described, and the n ature of their vector is discussed and compared with previous introduc tions. Their occurrence in the vicinity of shellfish farms suggests th at they could have been transported by commercial molluscs. The import ance of long-term surveys of coastal areas is here emphasized.
