Abstract
A study was conducted to investigate the effects of three chemical ameliora nts, namely, cycocel, limewash and potassium chloride, on stomatal frequenc y, leaf water potential and relative water content in brinjal (Solanum melo ngena L.) plants under moisture stress conditions. Moisture stress imposed at three stages decreased stomatal frequency, the length and breadth of sto mata, leaf water potential and relative water content. Of the chemical amel iorants investigated, potassium chloride performed best in terms of stomata l behaviour and leaf water potential, whereas cycocel proved best in the ca se of relative water content.
