Abstract
The extraction of Cu(ll) by LIX 54-100 (beta -diketone) in lberfluid (keros ene type diluent) from ammoniacal/ammonium sulphate solutions has been inve stigated. The analysis of metal distribution data suggested the formation o f CuR2 species in the organic phase with formation constant log K-ext= -6.1 5. The results obtained on Cu(ll) distribution have been implemented in a s olid supported liquid membrane system, using H2SO4 solutions tag. 0.9 mol/l ) to strip the metal from the organic solution.
