The recent discoveries of a(0)(1450) and f(o)(1370)/f(o)(1500) in anti
proton-proton annihilation at rest shed new light on the interpretatio
n of light scaler mesons. The properties of f(o)(1500) match the expec
tations of a scalar glueball mixed with nearby <q(q)over bar> states.
New decay modes of the xi(2230) are reported in radiative J/psi decays
, pointing also towards a (tensor) glueball nature of this state. Resu
lts from different experiments are discussed and compared.
