Abstract
The analysis of many current experimental issues requires a firm under standing of mixing between hadronic states and the dynamics of light d egrees of freedom. Unfortunately this is not forthcoming. I outline re cent theoretical progress in lattice gauge theory and in models of QCD which attempt to address these issues.
