Abstract
A rapid biochemical system (OBIS) based on immediate enzymatic differentiat ion of Citrobacter, Proteus, Providencia, Hafnia and Morganella spp. from S almonella on brilliant green agar was evaluated A total of 96 field isolate s from various Salmonella serotypes, 18 Citrobacter freundii and 25 isolate s of other Enterobacteriaceae were tested All Salmonella isolates were iden tified correctly by the kit, and none of the Enterobacteriaceae isolates we re identified as Salmonella. The results indicate complete specificity for Salmonella colonies on brilliant green agar.
