Abstract
We discuss the possibility of detecting stochastic resonance in a peri odic potential driven by both a white noise source and an external con stant force (washboard potential). Evidence of a noise controlled reso nance is found in the limit of low damping, where inertia replaces the periodic drive. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
