Abstract
Persistent current oscillations and Coulomb blockade resonances of ele ctrons in a mesoscopic ring coupled to a quantum dot (either as a side branch or embedded in the ring) are studied within the framework of t he exact Bethe ansatz solutions of correlated electron systems and the Anderson impurity model.
