M. Hoffmann et al., Melt spinninig on twin screw extruder - Part II: Polyolefin elastomer fibers by means of reactive extrusion, KAUT GUM KU, 53(11), 2000, pp. 632
One way to modify polymers and to produce synthetic fibers in a single cont
inuous extrusion step is the connection of reactive extrusion and melt spin
ning where the tailor-made modification and the fibre formation can be carr
ied out simultaneously. In the first part of the contribution the technolog
ical requirements and goals were discussed. In the second part of the paper
we present some variations concerning the thermal and mechanical propertie
s of elastomeric ethylene-octene-copolymer fibers, which could be achieved
by a chemical crosslinking via graftpolymerised vinyl-silane.
