Azathioprine and rheumatoid arthritis are known to be associated with
an increased risk of the development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; howeve
r, the manifestation of fulminant hepatic failure is extremely uncommo
n in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. In this article, we describ
e a patient with rheumatoid arthritis who was taking azathioprine, in
whom fulminant hepatic failure occurred because of massive lymphomatou
s infiltration of the liver.
