Abstract
Developmental observations in foot laterality suggest increasing right-foot edness from early childhood, to young adult years, with few reports on beha viour beyond this time frame. This investigation confirmed recent suggestio ns by Porac (1996) of a continuation of this trend into middle and older ad ulthood, along with significant decreases in mixed-and left-foot preference s. Trends towards increasing right-footedness are linked to hemispheric het erochrony (right hemisphere ageing) and the right-sided world phenomenon.
