Tourist reception, and particularly a tourist agency's ability to provide t
he required services largely determine choice of tourist destination. The r
are studies devoted to tourist reception do not provide a generally accepte
d definition or a clear presentation of this concept. This exploratory stud
y is based on a theoretical framework covering three specific aspects: type
of greeting, hospitality, care and concern. It identified 38 actions which
characterize various dimensions of tourist reception. The statistical anal
ysis could not confirm the existence all three of these aspects but identif
ied the following two: recognizing hospitality, and care and concern.
