Abstract
Diphenyldiazomethane reacts in good yields with the unsaturated hydrid o-carbonyl compound [Re-2(mu-H)(2)(CO)(8)](1) to give insertion into a n Re-H-Re bridge; the derivative, [Re-2(mu-H)(Co)(8)(mu-eta(1)-N(H)NCP h2)] (2), has been characterised by a single crystal X-ray analysis. O n the contrary, the reaction of ethyldiazoacetate with 1 occurs with l oss of N-2 to give [Re-2(mu-H)(CO)(8)(mu=eta(2)-CH2CO2Et)] (3).
