Abstract
NbC/C/NbC similar to NbC composite microcoils and microtubes were prepared by vapor phase metallizing of regular carbon microcoils, and the preparatio n conditions and some properties were examined. The carbon coils were niboi lized from the surface to the core with preservation of the coiling morphol ogy to form NbC/C/NbC similar to NbC composite microcoils or microtubes. Th e bulk electrical resistivity and specific surface area were 0.3 to 0.02 Oh m .cm and 2 to 18 m(2)/g, respectively, depending on the niobilized ratio a nd the bulk density.
