Abstract
Self-reported versus informant-reported memory problems in nondemented elde rly adults and in individuals with very mild and mild dementia of the Alzhe imer type (DAT) were correlated with cognitive outcomes. No significant cor relations were found between self-reported memory complaints and cognitive performance or tin controls) later development of dementia. In contrast, in formant-reported memory loss distinguished nondemented from demented indivi duals and predicted future diagnosis of DAT.
