Interruption of the aortic arch is a very rare congenital defect consisting
of discontinuity between the ascending and descending aorta. Few patients
survive to adulthood, due to effective collateral arterial flow to the desc
ending aorta. An intracranial aneurysm is reported in only one patient with
aortic arch interruption. We report a 16-year-old boy with an isolated aor
tic arch interruption and a ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm
.
