Using the statistical model and the fission and the neutron evaporation cha
racteristics predicted in different theoretical models, we analyze the surv
ival probabilities of superheavy nuclei produced in Pb-208-based cold fusio
n reactions. For Z<114 all models give similar ratios of the neutron evapor
ation to the fission width. But for Z<greater than or equal to>114, they yi
eld different results for this ratio and therefore lead to different evapor
ation residue cross sections.
