Unless squarks and sleptons are in the multi-TeV region or above, CP violat
ing induced electric dipole moments of elementary particles can pose signif
icant puzzles for supersymmetric (SUSY) models. We study the dipole-moment-
inducing one-loop amplitudes as a function of the fundamental SUSY paramete
rs and show that these puzzles are removed if there is a sufficiently large
hierarchy between the gaugino masses and the scalar mass. We comment on th
e experimental status of the low gaugino mass scenario. (C) 2000 Elsevier S
