Lea. Berlouis et al., THE DECOMPOSITION OF ELECTROCHEMICALLY LOADED PALLADIUM HYDRIDE - A THERMAL-ANALYSIS STUDY, Journal of alloys and compounds, 253, 1997, pp. 207-209
Palladium samples electrochemically loaded with hydrogen have been exa
mined in terms of their desorption characteristics using the thermal a
nalysis methods of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermog
ravimetric analysis (TGA). The temperature of maximum desorption is sh
own to depend on the H:Pd ratio n when loading was carried out at curr
ent densities i(D) less than or equal to 2 mA cm (-2). The molar desor
ption enthalpy Delta H-M, derived from the DSC and TGA data as a funct
ion of n (0.48-0.9), was found to be in good agreement with literature
values at lower n but deviated at higher n.
