A new species of Dorylaimus is described from the sediment of a freshwater
rock-hole in the Northern Territory Australia. It is distinguished from oth
er species by a combination of characters: the cuticle has about 30 longitu
dinal ridges in the mid region of the body, the odontostyle varies from 43
to 46 mum in length with an aperture covering 43 to 46% of its length and i
s about ten times as long as it is in diameter, the male tail is short and
rounded and the female rail is conoid, terminating in a short flagellum, th
e spicules are 55-61 mum long, and there are 22- 25 supplements in a contig
uous row.
