Abstract
A theoretical model for studying the heavy particle transport in a cathode sheath is developed. The velocity distribution functions near a planar cath ode are deduced. The expressions for neutral and ionic fluxes of neutral an d ionic particles near a planar cathode are also obtained. The result predi cated by the theoretical model is in accordance Monte Carlo simulation.
