Abstract
Lattice-matched (Zn,Cd,Mg)Se epilayers were grown by molecular-beam epitaxy on InP substrates. X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements sh ow the high crystalline quality of the epilayers. Using a prism coupler tec hnique, the index of refraction of the epilayers was investigated at four d iscrete wavelengths. With these results, (Zn,Cd,Mg)Se-based distributed Bra gg reflector structures have been grown, covering nearly the entire visible spectral range. A maximum reflectivity of 95% has been achieved for struct ures having 16 periods. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0003-6951 (00)02852-7].
