The work deals with the formulation of a one-dimensional kinematical model
that is able to study the static behaviour of fibre-reinforced polymer thin
-walled beams. The proposed model allows us to take into account the effect
s of shear deformability. Some numerical results obtained via the finite el
ement method are provided and comparisons with the results obtained by Vlas
