New route for preparation of endohedral complexes of rare gas atom-C-60

Preparation of endohedral complexes of a rare gas atom-fullerene is describ ed, in which a sample of C-60 powder, surrounded by a high pressure rare ga s, is sublimated and excited by a strong nanosecond pulse laser beam. Exper iments were carried out with the following rare gases: pure He-1, a mixture of 2% of He-3 in He-1, and pure Ar. Macroscopic quantities of these comple xes were obtained in estimated concentrations up to 20%. (C) Academic des s ciences/Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
