Abstract
Flow cytometry has become a routine method in human medicine in the last ye ars. Important applications in clinical diagnostics are measurement of DNA- content, cell cycle analysis, immunophenotyping of lymphocytes and cell fun ction measurements. Flow cytometry is at present rarely applied in veterina ry medicine. This article reviews basic principles of flow cytometry and de monstrates possibilities of flow cytometric analysis in oncology and diagno stics of anaemia and immunodeficiency in dogs and cats.
