Abstract
Tophaceous gout of the spine is rare. We report the case of a 27-year-old m ale, renal transplant recipient, who presented with an acute onset of lower back pain. Radiological, biochemical and histo-pathological findings confi rmed a diagnosis of tophaceous gout of the lumbar spine.
