Bashkirian to Moscovian (Late Carboniferous) brachiopod faunas from the Western Kunlun Mountains, Northwest China

This paper describes twenty brachiopod species in eleven genera from the Ba shkirian-Moscovian sediments of the western Kunlun Mountains, northwest Chi na. Four brachiopod assemblages are recognized including: the early Bashkir ian Productus productus-Ovatia karawuyiensis Assemblage, the late Bashkiria n Antiquatonia taiyuanfuensis-Eomarginifera lata Assemblage, the early Mosc ovian Choristites radiculosus-C. abnormalis Assemblage and the late Moscovi an Purdonella artuxerzsis-Punctospirifer Assemblage. Three new species are proposed herein: Rugosochonetes tarimensis, Ovatia karawuyiensis and Choris tites ustritshyi.
