Abstract
The results of an experimental study of pulsed streams generated by an elec trothermal launcher and the acceleration dynamics of microparticles in thes e hows are described. The experimental data obtained, in particular, by usi ng laser probing of flows have confirmed that microparticles are captured a nd accelerated by the gas flow region following the head shock wave. The us e of a multigap design of the accelerator discharge unit allowed for effici ent formation of this region. Analyzing the coatings from powder materials deposited with the help of the electrothermal launcher has demonstrated the possibility of obtaining high-quality coatings.
