Abstract
The electronic structure of MnxZnyFezO4 single-crystal ferrites was investi gated. The fine structure of their X-ray spectra was found to correlate wit h the populations of quantum states. A scheme is suggested for the evolutio n of the electronic structure with strengthening exchange interaction of va lence electrons as the chemical composition of the system becomes more comp lex. The metal-insulator phase transition is possible in the range of compo sitions corresponding to densities from rho = 5.097 g/cm(3) to rho = 5.125 g/cm(3), where manganese changes its charge state.
