Abstract
Beam-foil spectra of silicon have been recorded in the region 450-1270 Angstrom. Sixty new transitions have been identified as combinations between 2p(3)3s, 3p and 3d in O-like silicon, Si VII, leading to an al most complete description of the energy level structure in these confi gurations. The line identifications are supported by isoelectronic com parisons and both ab initio and semi-empirical theoretical calculation s.
